KS3 Student Volunteer Orientation

September 30 was a very important day for the selected Year 7-9 students who volunteered as “Homework Buddies”of the students of determination. On that day they were given an orientation about the inclusion program of SMM. The volunteer students were compassionate, intelligent, kind hearted and determined to succeed in their tasks. .
The volunteers were divided into groups where they answered questions that pertain to skills, capabilities and the different approaches that they should adapt in a given situation and circumstance.. Moving around the room , we were able to see and discussed our answers, opinions, concepts, perceptions and viewpoints on the different questions.
The discussions, expectations, roles and different types of conditions were discussed briefly. Then we each shared what we learned and what we thought about it. It was truly a learning experience. It was clear that everyone was open to different ideas and ways how we should conduct ourselves when assisting the determined ones.
